Buffy creator joss Whedon finally received a long overdue recognition from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. On Sept. 12, he received the Emmy for short-format live-action entertainment programs for his wildly popular web musical Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. The program, which debuted July 15, 2008, features Neil Patrick Harris in the title role and Nathan Fillion (Buffy, Firefly) as his superhero nemesis. Whedon was previously nominated for an Emmy for the silent episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer titled “Hush.
